With the recent arrival of Ford EcoBoost eninges, now available in most of Ford's models, the American automaker's eco and environmentally friendly engines will not only be in North America but also in China. With the Chinese government promising to reduce its dependence on imported oil and cleaning up its air, Ford plans to help China get there.

By 2015 its expected that cars equipped with the EcoBoost engine will be seen in China along with15 new vehicles which will premier overseas. In addition to the EcoBoost engines, China will also be getting Ford's direct injection, twin independent variable camshaft timing and six-speed transmissions which deliver 20% in fuel economy savings and cut down CO2 emissions by between 15 and 20%. Ultimately, this could help citizens in China, a country with the world's largest populations and some of the worst quality air on earth, make their own personal contribution.
